Sarah Waraniak

Hi! I am an ACSM certified Personal Trainer and Group Fitness Instructor, currently pursuing a Masters in Public Health at Texas A&M University. I have a B.S. in Exercise Science and a minor in Psychology from Grand Valley State University in Michigan, and have over four years of fitness instruction and personal training experience. I have worked with just about every population, and am happy to create a fitness plan that works for you. I specialize in mobility and balance training, injury prevention and strength training (particularly for runners and endurance athletes), older adult functional fitness, exercise for pregnant women, and adaptive exercise. I have worked with clients ages 11-85, and am passionate about making fitness work into your life, on your schedule, in a way that is sustainable and enjoyable for you. What sets me apart from others in this industry is that I have a passion about focusing on what your body can do, rather than what it looks like. That means your progress with me is typically measured in fitness achievements, like number of push-ups, resting heart rate, or pounds lifted, rather than pounds lost. A little bit more about me: I am a distance runner, and recently completed my third marathon in 3 hours and 2 minutes! If all the stars align, I have my sights set on qualifying for the next Olympic Trials Marathon in 2024. I am passionate about making physical activity accessible to all groups of people, and am currently engaged in a fellowship project working on creating and administering culturally sensitive fitness classes to refugees in the Houston area. Physical activity and fitness are a great way to temporarily escape during the stress of a pandemic, and I hope that I can help you do that. Please reach out to me if you have any questions - I look forward to working with you!
